These three publications provide detailed explanations of the techniques, and very clear step-by-step instructions how to learn and/or teach the techniques. Order all three or separately.
Each ascending and descending interval of glissando is written, and how to execute it is described (starting at the semi-tone and expanding to wider intervals). Exercises employing the glissandi described are throughout the book, beginning with very simple exercises and culminating in exercises that include glissandi, both ascending and descending, covering the full range of the oboe.
Each double-trill on the oboe is written, and how to execute it is described. The book includes exercises for practicing each double-trill, exercises for practice combining various double-trills, and exercises that employ a wide variety of double-trill skills, beginning with the simple and culminating with the elaborate.
